Our Story

Reefs Unknown is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization seeking to promote coral reef research and education throughout the Eastern Caribbean and the world.  Born in the US Virgin Islands, Reefs Unknown will primarily focus on the study of deep mesophotic coral reefs and other coral ecosystems existing at the margins of reef science.
